Basically, BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) is planning to deploy DOTSOFT (a software developed by Department Of Telecom, an in-house=20 developed software, integrating the Commercial Activities, Telecom=20 Billing & Accounting, FRS and Directory Enquiry). DOTSOFT will have Oracle 9i RAC at its backend. The plan is to cluster 2 nos. of HP rx7640 using Redhat Cluster Suite and have 9i RAC over it. Then DOTSOFT. Since, this is the first of its=20 kind project for me as well as my Company (ORG Informatics Ltd., Guwahati)=20 I am still not able to figure out totally, the best approach. So, i actually am not sure whether RHCS is actually reqd. or not, but failover is definitely our/Customer's dire necessity.=20 The Customer details:- O/o Chief General Manager Telecom=20 Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited North East - I Circle Shillong, Meghalaya=20 (India, Asia-Pacific) Regarding Oracle MetaLink - no I dont have access to it. There are minor issues that you can clear me about. Firstly, i dont have the GUI, as both the rx7640 didn't have any kinda display adapters. All i have is a HP thin client, will that give me the GUI? Secondly, we propose to form a cluster of 2 nodes, i guess i have to be doing the clustering first..i have Redhat Cluster Suite. Then, a have the EVA6000 (with 2 san switches, 2 controllers and 4 arrays with 4 hdds each - total 16). And finally Oracle RAC. I have been collecting documents from hp, redhat. But, i am in need of your tech-tips as my guidelines, and all the important patches for oracle that u told me about in your last mail.=20 =20 Pls. send me your suggestions.
