migration from exchange to sendmail

Hello everybody , i am new to this list and mailing first time in this list
. We have an exchange 5.5 server at our place and i want to migrate to the
sendmail .I have installed the sendmail and know how it works but i want to
migrate my exchange mailboxes to sendmail can anybody tell me how to do this
safely .
