It takes amassing the binaries and creating an installable iso. There
are various ways of doing this, found freely on the web.

That's actually a ton easier. Just download, the .src.rpm and use
rpmbuild to rebuild it, and then install it.

None of it is QA'd or in any supportable by Red Hat, of course. 

BUT, from reading your first paragraph, it sounds like you want to be
able to look at what will be the core of future Enterprise Linux
offerings, and still be able to install it easily?

If that's the case, you should try Fedora at:

http://fedora.redhat.com

ISOs are available for that, as well as a means for getting community
updates.
