Hello all, We've gotten LDAP and LDAPS ports/services working and responding running on a NetWare server in the private side of a Linux Piranha/LVS host. So people make LDAP requests to cname PIRANHA-LDAP and Piranha/LVS does the NAT routing and LDAP requests get services just fine. Now the current NetWare server running NLDAP has two network cards, one on X.X.X.X and the other on Y.Y.Y.Y. where Y.Y.Y.Y is the private network. The Piranha/LVS host is on Z.Z.Z.Z and Y.Y.Y.Y where Z is the public and Y is the private side. The only way to get the NAT routing to work is to have the default gateway on the NetWare box be Y.Y.Y.A (ie. the NAT router address of the Piranha/LVS host) WHICH IS FINE to make LDAP respond, however it breaks the ability to do various Novell services such as RCONSOLE and WEB-PORTAL. If we add a STATIC ROUTE on the NetWare server to other network segments it breaks the ability to get LDAP requests services through Piranha/LVS host. Now we have tested using Piranha/LVS to service all of the various NetWare ports/services and that in fact worked FINE except for web-portal which is hardcoded in java to return the main ip address of the ldap server, but all else worked. Our reason for limiting Piranha/LVS to JUST the LDAP ports was to simplify management over all, and make web-portal work again. Has anyone used a NetWare NLDAP service behind Piranha and gotten ALL OF IT to work right, with two NICs in the LDAP server as I've talked about?
