Hello all,
I couldn't find an acceptable way to deal with the "Arp Problem"
on my RH 7.3 systems, so I re-patched the RedHat Kernel SRPM to include
Julian's hidden interface patch in with the standard 7.3 kernel. This is a
drop in replacement for RedHat 7.3 systems that implements the following
patch for LVS-DR Real Servers.
http://www.linux-vs.org/~julian/hidden-2.4.19pre5-1.diff
The purpose of this patch is to change the ARP behavior for addresses
attached to specific interface: (1) don't reply for broadcast probes (2)
don't announce the addresses in the ARP probes (3) the addresses are not
selected by the source address autoselection mechanism.
The RPMS and associated files can be grabbed from:
ftp://ftp.nacs.net/pub/lvs/README.kernel

ftp://ftp.nacs.net/pub/lvs/kernel-source-2.4.18-24.7.x.i386.rpm
I didn't have time to figure out how to build an i686 specific kernel, so
if anyone cares to tell me how to add it, I'll be happy to make one. Let
me know if this is helpful to anyone...
