Hi PB,

Thank you for the reply.I have decided to go for RedHat 8.0 (kernel- 2.4.18-14) without making use of Piranha GUI.
I have downloaded and installed following components as per your documents.

    piranha-0.7.0-3
   scsi_reserve-0.7-6

ipvsadm-1.21-4 is in-built with RedHat 8.0 .I found that IPVS module is supported in kernel by default.I have not applied any patch.
I have copied a working copy of LVS.cf file into /etc/sysconfig/ha/ which has worked in case of RHAS for me.Pulse service is getting
started properly and IPVASADM shows a proper routing table too.

But when I tried browsing the web page by giving VIP from client it doesn't work.httpd is running and page is appearing when checked locally from web server.

Kindly help me to resolve this issue and let me know if some steps I have missed specific to RedHat 8.0.Further to this ,please tell me what is the command to see current running LVS processes.

 Thanks a lot.
 Sumesh

Hi,

If you are using PIRANHA and NAT Routing on Red Hat
Linux, then see http://baitz.com/lvs.html
which talks all about setting it up on version 7.3 but
does not recommend 8.0 as the Apache 2.x and newer PHP
seems to break Piranha_GUI. Finally, 9.0 no longer
has ip_vs compiled into the kernel, so would need to
obtain the ip_vs module from
http://linuxvirtualserver.org and compile it into the
kernel.
