Re: LVS/Piranha in RH 8.0 or 7.3 components and steps

Hey Sumesh-

I compiled the lvs components (latest on www.linuxvirtualserver.org) against
a 2.4.20 kernel on Redhat8 (replacing the default 2.4.18 kernel). LVS does
not really care what web server you have on the backend, so don't be too
concerned about that yet.

There is an overview document that may be easier to swallow at:
http://sources.redhat.com/piranha/

Although the versions are a bit outdated, the content is tailored to a
vanilla (for the most part) install.

Redhat has a more step by step version of the doc at:

I think that it expects that you have lvs compiled into the kernel though, so
expect to use a couple of docs to get it done if you're new at this.

I'm trying to figure out where I got the piranha rpms... Cant remember...
I'll let you know if I find them...

Versions:

Kernel : 2.4.20
IPVS (and IPVSadm) : 1.0.7
Piranha (and GUI) : 0.7.0

Anyhow, hope that gets you on the right track a bit...
