Connecting outside from realservers

We are trying to deploy a LVS/NAT cluster using RH AS2.1 and
piranha-gui. The situation is this: two directors and four realserver.
Of course the realserver are invisible from the outside (director's
LAN). Now suppose we need to connect from realservers to outside
services, How can we do that? I thought to use ipvs or iptables, but I
have no experiences with that. As anyone come across to the problem?
