Dear newsgroup, I installed RedHat 9 on my Dell Inspiron 4100 notebook and get connected to the internet with the ppp-daemon. But I have some problems with the connection. After a while, especially if I'll download some files via ftp or http, the connection slows down and almost no data transfer is possible. I tried various providers but the szenario decribed above always happens. Does anybody experienced the same or knows a solution? Here is my system setup: I used the redhat-config-network program to configure the pppd. Additionally I'm using the ppp options 'idle 120', 'lock' and 'debug'. I connect to an ISDN line with the ELSA Microlink ISDN Internet modem, an AT command set compatible modem, which is connected to /dev/ttyS0. I communicate with 115200 baud and RTSCTS flow control. The internet browser I use is Mozilla. Thank you in advance, Thomas Reisinger -- Thomas Reisinger mailto:[email protected]
