Re: dial up problems

 I supose I could give you a hint, as I had a hard time until I get my odem
work under RH 7.3. 
Put your modem in a Windows machine and from the Settings=>Control
Pannel=>Phone and Modem Options, highlight your modem. Click Properties,
then Diagnostics, and here click Query. After Query finishes, you'll see
some information under bar "Command| Response" Copy those because you'll
find there the commands you need under Linux, some of them at least.
Now put your modem back on Linux machine and start "RH ppp dialer " or the
other one "RH ppp configuration" (or something,  I'm not quite sure about
the name.)
When configuring here use as much as the information you got from Windows,
especially those regarding initializing commands.
You can find RH ppp under "Internet" menu.
Write back again if you need somethin more specifik, but remember to tell
what the machine says to you, ie what kind of error.
