text browsers work but mozilla/konquerer does not work

I am using RedHat 9.0 on AMD.

I use wvdial to connect to ISP.  Connection works
fine, I can browse using text browsers (links, elinks,
lynx), but  if I try using graphics browsers for same
sites, system usually hangs after sometime and only
way out is to reboot the system.  Even for the time
broswers work, it's very unstable.  I have tried
Mozilla, Konquerer and Firebird.  I get similar
problems on KDE as well as FVWM.

All the graphics browsers work fine if I am not
connected.

Can anybody point out any solution or way to get more
information for such behaviour?  I saw a very similar
post on this list in July 2002 but did not see any
response to that.
