pppd unrecognized option

Hello friends,

I don't understand the following message written in /var/log/messages.

Jul 20 17:21:21 myhost pppd [1234]: unrecognized option '/dev/ttyS14'

We are running fedora core 4. We start ttyS14 by inittab :

p1:2345:respawn:/usr/sbin/pppd /dev/ttyS14 38400

Yesterday we restarted this host and since it didn't work !
Last week, for instance, it runs fine !
