John,

Never ever "move" _anything_ except your coffee cup off of the top of the 
server.

Only _COPY_ it, _VERIFY_ it, and then delete it.

And always do this with a backup.

You are correct, you should have understood it first.  You don't see ANY 
windoz USERS fooling around with hard drives and partitioning and the likes.  
You see techs doing that, and they know what their doing.

NOT!!  I have seen many many windoz USERS click and drag a directory only 
then to say "Where did it go?  All I did was drag it to here and it's gone!"

John, if you are going to be a linux admin then get the books out, get a 2nd 
system, and start playing and learning.
