How to Install gcc

Hello,

I'm a newbie with Linux. I just install RH 7.2 and would like to write some code to learn C/C++.
The problem is that I can't install gcc.
I have a cd with Gcc, but it says that it can't find cc or gcc
Well, obviuosly it can't find gcc, 'cause I have to install it, but cc? what it is?
where can I find it.

Probably those are dumm questions, but please answer me.
