RE: Ver. 7.2 block device definition errors

Luis, 
    I appreciate you taking the time to respond to
this question. If I sound dumb, I suppose I am about
Linux. I am very new to it. However my real problem is
that I cannot mount either the floppy or the cdrom.
When I issue the command "mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom"
I get the error "not a valid block device". The
question about what the "l" means is a result of a
CONSIDERABLE amount of study in the books that say
these devices in the "/dev" directory are supposed to
be prefixed with a "b" not an "l"! That is why I am
getting the error and is what I need to figure out.
and PARDON me for being a newbie! I guess I have
learned my lesson not to ask questions of a support
forum! If this forum is not for asking questions that
some would find stupid then it is not much of a
support forum after all!
