There have been 12 messages concerning this problem "Network going up and down..." and NOW you say it's when you try to access a folder shared by SAMBA!!!! Go back to school and read how to write up a proper request for help. Describe the situation in great detail. ALL of the messages you have posted to this list have been short terse messages that have generated a considerable amount of traffic by people willing to give of their time and talent to help YOU. Why not give them the same courtesy and provide a COMPLETE description of your problem. Put yourself in their shoes. Ask yourself what information do I need to solve this problem and then provide it. And your statement "My network works fine most of the time", it should work "fine" ALL OF THE TIME. That is the level of service that Linux and RH Linux provides. ALL OF THE TIME!! I dare say that your customers might be getting a bad feeling about their Linux server. They might be thinking it is not up to the task based on all the problems you have been describing here. Well, I would say it is the fault of the sysadm and not the system! stew > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Rick Warner" <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Friday, March 14, 2003 3:23 AM > Subject: Re: Network going up and down... > > >> On Fri, 14 Mar 2003, System wrote: >> >>> No i am trying to connect it through thr ip only and it connects >>> but the connections remains for sometime and then i get lost:( >>> I don't know why its up for sometime and then down for another >>> restart. >>> >>> Where can i find the log for this:() >> >> Nowhere, most likely.
