Many thanks. For the sake of anyone following with the same trouble- rpm -q bcm5820 #gave bcm5820-1.17-6 #as a result rpm -e bcm5820 #followed by rpm -q bcm5820 #gave package bcm5820 is not installed the update then worked! Much appreciated Paul Whyte
