Gnome is the default desktop in RedHat. To set KDE as the default, then, all you have to do is create the file /etc/syscongfig/desktop with "KDE" in it in capital letters, logout and
re-login.

Subject: Switching between KDE and GNOME

How do I switch from KDE to Gnome? I know you can use switchdesk, but I don't have that right now, my installation CDs are corrupt. I would appriciate if you helped me.
