Re: CD was not found

I think his original statement meant he had the boot image on a floppy,
just that when he booted off that he could not see the CD-ROM drive.
My take on that is he either has a dead CD-ROM drive OR he has a CD-ROM
drive running off a controller which is not supported on the standard 
boot floppy.  Latter case is rare these days, but not unknown.  If his
problem is the former (dead CD-ROM) then replacement is needed.  If it
is some obscure CD-ROM/controller combo then it becomes 'make your own
boot image floppy' voodoo time; not for the beginner.  Of course, since
the original poster gave ZERO details - just 'it does not work' - there
is no way for us to tell what the story might be here.  Of course the fact
that the BIOS does not support boot from CD tells me this is probably some
rather old box and thus the odd controller problem is likely,
