Standard rule of thumb is unless you have an overwhelming reason to
upgrade a server, it should be left alone. When that reason exists, there
are a number of factors that come into play:
-what services will the machine run?
-are those services available on the upgrade?
-what changes to existing configs will be necessary?

I stayed away from 8.0 as RH changed the configs around a lot, renaming
stuff, etc. They also made it gui heavy, which is of absolutely no use to
me. The only compelling reason I would have to upgrade is performance
gains resulting from the 3.x compiler, which were not compelling enough to
undertake, so I stuck with 7.3.
