Machine can't resolve it's own name!

Hie All,

When I telnet my RH7.2 from the console using the hostname as follows,
telnet blessing

I get the error message:  host could not the found ....etc.
but when I use the ip address it works fine (telnet 192.168.1.1).
Please help me on how to resolve this problem
