RE: disabling rpc.statd???

Speaking of portmapper and related services...

	Is there anything better for sharing, in an NFS fashion, between
Linux workstations and servers?

chkconfig --level 12345 nfslock off
service nfslock stop

Done :)

PS: unless you really need it I suggest stopping the portmapper and all 
its services altogether. They've been at #1 in the security hazard lists

for years.
I have even rpm -e'd them.
