Makefile:89: *** Linux kernel source not found. Stop.

Trying to do a make install for the e1000 driver and receive the folowing
error message:
[root@btsdea02 src]# make install
Makefile:89: *** Linux kernel source not found.  Stop.
[root@btsdea02 src]#

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
