Upgrading From 7.2 to 9.0

Since I can't burn CD's or afford to buy the boxed set, I had an idea on 
how I could upgrade. I could download the RPM's from RedHat (or a 
mirror) and upgrade using RedCarpet[0]. My question to you guys is, will 
this work? If not, what other options do I have? And is this even the 
right list to ask on?
