RE: Linux accounts per box

If I am remembering correcntly...

	You can have something like 65,556 users in the passwd file. I believe
that is a limitation imposed by the architecture of the system... (Ie.
X86 based CPU, which is still used for most Linux Servers.)

	As for a really good user authentication system, I understand that once
it is setup OpenLDAP makes a great tool as a central repository of
authentication information. Many, many services have LDAP Authentication
modules available for them, which could greatly assist in managing large
numbers of users.
