RE: Multiple server lockups

At this point I would take anything but I have an identical server running the exact same stuff with the exception that it is running a much older kernel (2.4.9-34smp) and it hasn't had a single problem.  Now...I know there isn't anything that is "identical", even two servers built on the same day at the Dell breeding lab but they should be pretty close I would think.

A friend of mine was having similar problems. He had configured redhat
with X. After a few minutes, the machine locked up so hard there was only
a hard reboot to get it going again. I took a look and found the sound
card was not configured, so I ran sndconfig and it fixed the problem. Now
you're both running servers, so I'm hoping this isn't relevant.
