Internal Modems - problem

Hi all,
I am using RedHat Linux 9 its a cool OS,But its not detecting my modem, ive got a internal modem ie.,hp Micromodem, which is a built-in with the motherboard. when i check for modems its giving as "NO Modems Found" Its very difficult for me to connect the internet.
Can anyone give me a solution for cofigurig the internal modem.
I dont have any other choice to buy a external modems, coz its too costly. So plz help me!
