We need more information. How many domains are being served off this
machine, what is the MaxClients, MaxKeepAlive, KeepAliveTimeout, and
MaxRequestsPerChild settings?

Have you checked the error and access logs and ps? I would guess that the
problem started after you or one of the client's who manages one of the
domains installed some new web-enabled app that's poorly written. could
even be the Front Page thingy.
