famqueue overflow

We've been having some problems with fam eating up 1 whole CPU.  Because of that, we started running fam from the command line with the 'fam -v' command.  When fam starts, all looks well, but then it starts spewing the following message repeatedly.

Does anyone have any ideas?

My current kernel is 2.4.20-19.7.smp
RH 7.2

My current fam versions are
fam-2.6.4-11
fam-devel-2.6.4-11
