Re: Tape handling in Linux

I'm back... I got vmsbackup installed on my PC, and I *think* it would
work.  However, as my luck would have it, the very first block is bad
(hence that 80 for a blocksize mentioned earlier.)  I tried to use mt to
move the tape forward, but it seems that someone in their infinite
wisdom decided that it was a really good idea to rewind the tape after
mt finished.  At least, that's the impression I'm getting... I tried:

mt -f /dev/st0 eod

to see if I could position the tape at the end.  It paused there, and
then promptly rewound.

Ideas?
