Linux and OpenWebmail

Hi All

I have a redhat linux 9.0 server configured with squid, Samba. 
My web and mail hosting is with my hosting provider who is having Linux Server on Sun Cobalt Server and is giving OpenWebmail as the interface for checking mails through web

I have cable internet and my LAN users browse net and check mails through squid, all is well but for one peculiar problem which is as follows.

client pcs in my LAN are all running windows 98 with IE 5.0 or higher 
We are able to access the mails through our openwebmail interface but when ever we type a new mail and then click on send button the process hangs and the mail also doesnt get delivered.apart from this ething else works fine and im able to browse any site wout any probs

can anyone please throw some light on this
