how to connect to the internet with linux redhat 7.0 by using calbe modem

Hi,there
I just installed redhat 7.0 on my computer and want to connect with internet. But due to this is the first time for me to use linux, I am not sure how to configure my connection with the internet. actually I used optinum online to surf on the internet. and since I have two computers at home(the other one is a window box), I used a router to connect my two computers.
could anybody have the same or almost same experience like this and willing to give me some hints to start or share your experience? thanks in advance.

I plan to completely quit windows after I become comfortable and confidence with linux redhat.
