Hullo,
Im having a problem connecting a Red HAt 7.0 client maschine to a W2k network (running a DHCP and DNS Server).
First I configured everything using "netconf". I got a driver for my Davicom card called "strip", but when I run "modprobe strip" I get this.

[root@pc2002111012 /]# modprobe strip
Note: /etc/modules.conf is more recent than /lib/modules.dep
[root@pc2002111012 /]#

in the /etc/modules.conf folder i find:

alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
alias usb-controller usb_uhci
alias eth0 strip
alias sound-slot-0 i1810_audio

How do I update the /lib/modlues.dep folder?

Also, when I run /sbin/service network reload, I get following:

Setting network parameters: [OK]
Brining up interface lo: [OK]
Bringing up interface eth0: Delaying eth0 initialization
									[FAILED]

My Nic:
Ethernet controller: Davicom Semiconductor, Inc. Ethernet 100/10 MBit (rev 31)
Subsystem: Unknown device 4554:434e
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 11

What's wrong with "Subsystem: Unknown device...." how can I change that?

Pleaz help a lost newbie out!
