That won't save space, either. Logrotate prevents using too much
space. When it rotates it only saves the last N copies. You can
set N with the "rotate" parameter in "/etc/logrotate.conf". Set it
to 1 or 2 and leave it in daily. That will purge out the old log
files and keep them down to a one day size.
