Suspend on dell laptop

Hi,

I have a Dell inspiron 8200 laptop with linux redhat 7.3 running on it. 
I have been trying to make the suspend function work, but have had no 
luck. Does anybody have any ideas or know how to do this? I would 
appreciate any tips.
