I have a similar problem but not with monitor. I can not get my ATI Radeon
7000 video card to be recognized in RH 7.0.

Does anyone else have this video card working in RH 7.0 and if so, can you
tell me how you got it to work?

Interestingly enough, the probe did pick up my Samsung SyncMaster 151v (LCD)
monitor properly.

Thanks

Bob

You are not doubt using Xconfigurator to do the configuration. Try
to use either xf86cfg or xf86config. But to use these you need to
know the specifications of your monitor and video card.
