Thanks again.  Refer to my other email.  I got the old ethernet port to
work.

I may try installing the 100mbs US Robotics card again with Tulip at
network kernel in linuxconf.

I just heard back from USR - they say the USR997900 uses a Tulip
chipset. So you should be able to use:

alias eth0 tulip

in /etc/modules.conf
