Question abouta serial port (chat and setserial)

I need to comunicate with a device using the serial port.

I need to configure it as 2400/8/N/1 but I can´t see how
do it with "setserial"

I guess i can use "chat" to send and receive commands
to/from my device, is it right? How can I tell "chat" which
port I want to use (com1, com2)?
