determining hardware model

I need to know what hardware model I am using to run linux.  I have a 
script that I run on solaris machines that outputs what kind of 
hardware the server is (i.e. Sun Enterprise E4500/E5500).  I need to 
get this info somehow from the linux machines.  Any suggestions?
