I've used gnome sound recorder with the built-in mic in my laptop and
with an external line-in through the sound card.  I don't think it can
be used to record from realplayer.

If you want to record from realplayer, then I recommend vsound.  Michael
Knepher alread posted the URL.  I've used vsound several times (on a
RH7.3 system, never tried it on limbo or null), and it works fine for
capturing a streamed broadcast from realplayer.
