Yes.  Well, when you configured a queue (using redhat-config-printer)
did you print a test page?  Did that work?

Since the 'print' plug-in supplied in the gimp package is an older
version of gimp-print (4.0.5), you might need to print as PostScript
to the queue you've set up (i.e. not using -oraw in the lp command).
