have you ran gpilotd-control-applet with no options first?  you will
need to set up the pilot device before you can configure the conduits. 
you have installed the latest gnome-pilot package from rawhide and
restarted your x session as there is some stuff that needs to be stopped
to be changed.  it will used cached information until you do.
