Re: UI design [was Owen Taylor's paper]

Not quite a direct copy - in Apple's UI the menu bar reflects the
application's menu, not the desktop's. There are patches for Sawfish and
GNOME 1 that mimics this, but so far only KDE allows putting the application
menu on top of the screen without patching (and KDE 2/3 regresses from KDE 1
by not having the main KDE menu accessible from this top-level menu bar)

Would be nice to have a proper Apple-style menu bar for, oh, GNOME 2.4,
though :) Although it's probably a bit of a PITA for trackpad users..
