There is a considerable difference between "just like Windows" and being 
written to common UI standards. On this point, your argument fails.

As I've already said, IBM adopted CUA as its standard across AIX, OS/2, MVS 
TSO/E and everything else.

Since at that time IBM and MS were in partnership WRT OS/2 and Windows I 
expect Microsoft's standards are quite similar. Certainly, they seem so from 
my observations, but nobody could reasonably argue that OS/2 is epecially 
similar to versions of Windows apart from their common heritage in DOS.

OS/2 was build on SOM and DSOM and incorporate OpenDOC (technology in joint 
development with Apple). None of those appeared in Windows.
