rawhide has been frozen for a couple weeks -- pull the 
officially released variant of rpm-4.1 at:
   ftp://ftp.rpm.org/pub/rpm/dist/rpm-4.1.x/

For more information, of course, the rpm-list, and the RPM

   http://www.rpm.org/

are (hopefully) more useful.  The older 'hanging' issue bugs 
are exhaustively discussed in the list archives, and relevant 
testing suggestions compiled at the website.  Also, perhaps 
more usefully for a results oriented person, they are solved 
...
