Plugging in just 2) gives the same results for it as before.  Plugging 1) into 
another connector with 2) connected gives the same results.  2) can only plug 
into an internal on-board connector - uses a special cable and feeds a device 
which is physically mounted in a tray in an external 5-1/4" drive slot.
