I agree.  I definately pay too much for bad food as well!  The trick is to
buy Japanese curry mix from the supermarket and then mix it up with the
usual potatos, carrots, onions, cubed beef, and maybe peas.  When your done
you have a weeks worth of lunches; almost enough for two people.  Just
microwave some rice the night before and pack some up.  Thank goodness for
the magic rice button on my microwave; I just press it and it makes uncooked
rice and water into something beautifully edible.  And, for me anyway, curry
just never seems to get old.

And to the more serious point... Yes I like to just pay $60 for an RHN
subscription once a year.  I try to give RedHat ~$50 a year by either buying
an RHN subscription or a copy of RedHat Linux when I can afford it.  I
figure that since I rant, rave, and shout at everyone that RedHat makes
good, stable software that beats the pants of Microsoft Windows, I should
somehow support them.  I am not a developer, so I cannot write/correct code
so I return the favor by actively beta testing and giving them a little cash
each year.  Granted everyone cannot afford the money/time, but I think that
if you actively use RedHat and can do so it's a great way of helping out.
That's my idealistic and naive side writing anyway.  I can't print on this
list what my cinical and pessimistic side says ;-)

Besides all that, I never really notice when RHN is busy now...
