The problem was authentication. It didn't offer a popup for user+passwd. I tried, the horribly insecure, method for putting it in the URL, and it didn't work either. That may be related to using a single authentication server for the workgroup (I forget whet it is called in samba) but it doesn't seam to work in GNOME-1.4 either. -Thomas
