It _should_ be the default for KDE. Rachel, one of my daughters, uses 
Konqueror (not _my_ favourite) because I configured the machine to start with 
KDE and login to a KDE desktop by default, and K is the browser she sees.

She's not used Netscape for years, and has no wish to go looking for Moz or 
Galeon.

I'm sure that many new users will assume there is only one web browser, one 
email client and so on, simply because that's what they're used to with 
Windows.
