I am using rpm-4.2-0.66 and don't seem to be having any trouble with
lockups for rpm management. I know that I sucessfully installed rpms
with kernel-2.4.20-2.48 and might have tried to install rpms with
kernel-2.4.20-2.54.

I dropped back to RH8 for newer programs, security fixes, etc. What is
the phoebe3 version supposed to be?

Jim
